I’m sick to death of Wolverine. Every movie has been pretty much all about him, with the soul exception of XMFC, which happens to be my favourite. He works best as a small part of an ensemble, but when he’s stuck as the sole protagonist, the movie is dead, freakin’, boring.
I’m super thankful that Alex is going to be in DOFP at all, but I really hope he has more than a cameo appearance (and for the love of God, please don’t let him die). Since so little of the First Class cast is returning, I want to see as much as possible of those who “made the cut”.
Does anyone else feel that it was extremely tacky marketing to release The Bent Bullet only a week after the 50th anniversary of JFK’s assassination? Like on a scale of 1 to insensitive that was pretty douche-tastic
Charles is the fandom bicycle. He even comes with his own rear spoilers. Sorry had to be put there. Please don’t hurt me. I love Charles, really.
I can’t stand Charles Xavier. He’s so privileged and obnoxious about it, as well as something of a hypocrite. I wish I could talk my reasons about why he’s so problematic, but this fandom doesn’t seem willing to engage in dialogue about their darlings. Either you love them or people jump down your throat.
There are a lot of things in the movie that I appreciate in terms of tone or message - Raven’s self-acceptance, for instance - but I just don’t like the way that these things were executed (i.e. her total nudity). But times I’ve expressed these thoughts have led to such fights I’ve been afraid to stand up for myself and say anything, and part of that is my problem obviously but I guess I wanted to say that I don’t think there’s as much of a divide in fandom across the board as it seems and maybe it’s just communication problems?
I have no knowledge of the comics, and only go by what I see in the movies. And I believed since the first movie that Erik was a gentile Pole, and I even had long arguments with people that there was no evidence to indicate that he was Jewish in the movies, and to believe he was simply on the basis of being interned in a concentration camp was just ignorance. Until a few weeks I was linked to an image of young Erik with Star of David on his breast… Well, oops. Now I’m totally embarrassed.
Did you know that in the Uncanny X-Men 500 Issues Celebration, Stan Lee revealed he once planned for Professor X and Magneto to be brothers?
